Eternal Pro vs. Legacy Architects

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Estate planners are trusted with some of the most sensitive information a family has, and the intake software a firm chooses has to carry that trust too. Eternal Pro and Legacy Architects both promise a better intake. Here is how they compare, starting with the differences that matter most.

How They Are Similar

  • Built specifically for Estate Planning attorneys
  • A secure Client Portal replacing paper forms, PDFs and email chains
  • Customizable intake branded to your firm

Where they part ways is in how they protect client data, how they connect to WealthCounsel, whether they fit the way your firm already works, and how much of the estate they cover.

1. Security and Compliance

Eternal Pro

SOC 2 Type 2 certified and HIPAA compliant, independently audited on its own controls, and ready to sign a Business Associate Agreement. Your clients' data is always encrypted and isolated until retrieval.

Legacy Architects

Not SOC 2 certified. Not HIPAA compliant. No Business Associate Agreement. It leans on AWS, its hosting provider, being SOC audited - but that audit covers AWS, not Legacy Architects. Source

Why this matters: Clients trust you with the most sensitive details of their lives, and your intake software holds every one of them. A SOC 2 Type 2 report is an independent auditor confirming, over months, that the vendor actually protects that data. Without one, your firm is taking the vendor at its word. Before you choose any intake platform, ask to see the report.

Security questions to ask any estate planning software vendor

2. An Authorized WealthCounsel Partner

Eternal Pro

Eternal Pro is an authorized WealthCounsel integration partner, listed in the WealthCounsel directory, with contacts and matters synced both ways.

Legacy Architects

Not an authorized WealthCounsel integration. Manual import and export only. Source

Why this matters: Many estate planners draft in WealthCounsel. An authorized integration is one WealthCounsel itself recognizes, so intake data lands where it belongs without exporting and re-importing files.

3. Your Process, Not Theirs

Eternal Pro

Eternal Pro fits the way your firm already works. Flat fee, hourly, care and maintenance programs or one-time intake only: the platform does not mind. Our team builds your existing questionnaire for you, and most firms can send a standard intake in under 15 minutes.

Legacy Architects

Built around its founder's six-phase Hourglass method and "$50K months" program for solo practitioners. Its own FAQ says it replaces a process rather than a tool, and plans for about four hours a week of learning over the first 90 days. Source

Why this matters: Changing software should not mean changing how you practice. Eternal Pro adapts to your firm, not the other way around.

4. The Whole Estate, Including Digital

Eternal Pro

Traditional and digital assets in one Living Inventory. Clients import bank accounts and balances or enter them by hand, and Legacy Manager transfers the digital estate - smartphones, email and crypto - to the fiduciary, using a RUFADAA approach.

Legacy Architects

Intake and design sheets for the traditional estate, plus a trust funding tracker. No digital asset coverage is advertised. Source

Why this matters: Nearly every client has a phone, an email account and online accounts, and many hold crypto. If intake skips them, so does the plan.

5. Built for the Life of the Client

Eternal Pro

Intake is only the beginning. Clients return to keep their Living Inventory current and submit life updates for their planner to review, which feeds care and maintenance programs and billable plan updates.

Legacy Architects

Organized around a single engagement, from intake through signing and funding, with a vault for the signed plan. No life-update reviews are advertised, and wallet cards are listed as coming soon. Source

Why this matters: Plans go stale when lives change. Eternal Pro tells you when that happens, so the plan stays current and the relationship keeps going.

6. Pricing

Eternal Pro

Published and flat. Standard is $165 a month with 3 staff seats and Premium is $249 a month with 6, both billed annually, with unlimited clients and matters. Or try it free for 14 days.

Legacy Architects

Not published. Pricing is quoted on a personal call with the founder. Source

Why this matters: You should know what software costs before you get on a sales call.

7. Drafting

Eternal Pro

Eternal Pro hands complete, organized intake to the drafting software you already use, through authorized integrations with WealthCounsel and Trustate, and lets you draft estate documents with Claude straight from a client's intake data.

Legacy Architects

Goes further into drafting. It generates some documents itself, such as an estate plan diagram and guardianship documents, syncs to drafting software, and sells an outsourced drafting service. Source

Why this matters: If you want one vendor to supply the method, the software and the drafters, that is the Legacy Architects pitch. If you want the best intake feeding the drafting system you already trust, that is Eternal Pro.

8. AI and MCP

Eternal Pro

The Eternal Pro MCP integration with Claude reaches the whole configuration surface - intake questions, profiles, templates, document designs and settings - so an administrator can set up the platform in plain English.

Legacy Architects

No AI or MCP features are advertised.

Why this matters: AI is fast becoming part of everyday practice. Eternal Pro is ready for it today.

Eternal Pro vs. Legacy Architects: Which One is Better?

If you want a coach, a method and the software from one source, Legacy Architects is built for that. But only one of these platforms has an independent SOC 2 Type 2 audit and HIPAA compliance behind it, and only one is an authorized WealthCounsel partner. Add intake that fits the way you already practice, the whole digital estate, a relationship that continues after signing, and a price you can see up front, and Eternal Pro is the clear choice.
